1) An un-organized day ride for any 3 speed hub geared bicycle, vintage or modern. Bring your Raleigh, Ross, Murray, Schwinn, or other.
2) Prefer a non-lycra event (not absolute) similar to the many tweed rides around the country. These rides are not meant to be a "tweed" ride in actuality but I do encourage riders to adopt a casual approach in their attire selection.
3) Mileage can range from 5 to 60. Prefer to keep group together but may break up according to speeds and distances intended.
4) Start point will be Clay Twp Park at 8 am on ride dates and then head for ferry crossing to Harsens Island. Those on the island can pick us up anywhere along route if they wish to remain on island. Optional loop would be a trip up to Algonac State Park along the river and return via bike trail.
5) Restrooms will be available along route in form of porti-potties, pit and, flush toilets.
6) Suggest you bring lunch/snack for stops along route. May have group lunch after ride.
7) Being an "un-organized/non sanctioned" ride there is no official sag or breakdown support. However, no one will ride alone so if you have a problem help will be available. Common sense dictates to make sure your bicycle is prepared for the ride and you at least bring a spare tube.
8) Keep in mind that with early season rides, winds, if off the lake, can make things quite chilly, so be prepared for temps as much as 10+ degrees cooler than on the mainland.
9) This all meant to be fun, so if weather conditions are poor I will reschedule ride.
10) There are no ride fees
